The historical bull markets of Bitcoin have indeed left a lasting impression.
The first bull market occurred from September 2010 to June 2011, lasting for 9 months. BTC surged from $0.06 to $36, then quickly dropped to $2.5, a 93% decline, but never dropped below $2 afterward.
The second bull market occurred from October 2011 to April 2013, lasting for 7 months, with the BTC halving occurring on November 28, 2012. BTC rose from $2 to $260, a 130x increase. It then dropped to $50 in less than a week, an 80% decline.
The third bull market occurred from April 2013 to December 2013, lasting for 8 months. BTC rose from $50 to $1,000 in December 2013, a 23x increase. It then fell to $150 in January 2015, an 87% decline.
The fourth bull market occurred from January 2016 to December 2017, lasting for 2 years, with the BTC halving occurring in July 2016. BTC slowly rose from $400 in January 2016 to $20,000 in December 2017, a 50x increase. In 2017, BTC rose from $1,000 in January to $5,000 in October, taking 10 months, and soared from $7,000 to $20,000 in just 20 days, indicating that major bull markets are often brief.
The fifth bull market occurred after the third BTC halving on May 12, 2020. On that day, BTC was priced at over $6,900. By December 2020, BTC had surpassed $60,000, less than six months after breaking its previous all-time high.
